What is hard disk crash?
Simply, the hard disk contains the data platters which contain the magnetic bits of user data. The data is read or written by some "flying heads" as close as millionths of an inch to the data platters, with a typical speed in the range of 4,000 to 10,000 revolutions per minute. Due to the extreme intricacies, a dust particle, malfunction of electronic circuit, mechanical fault or impact will cause the flying heads to crash onto the platter surfaces, creating irreversible physical damages and hence permanent loss of data.
